Well, I have a few gifts that are finished and have been sent or given to their intended recipients to show you.
This first one is the finished baby sweater for a co-worker. He has a large family already, and just before they found out they were pregnant, they gave away all their baby clothes. (yikes!) A sweater is unbelievably appropriate in this instance. (and perhaps i should be getting them other things as well, like onesies.)
Peter: Can you knit me fingerless gloves for my birthday
(sidenote: his birthday is in October)
Me: Do you really want to wait for them? I can knit them right now.
Peter: Holy &*()^ yes!
Me: what color and how long?
Peter: royal blue and short. Oh my gosh, I owe you a treat!
Me: How about tomorrow?
Peter: What?!
Me: I'm coming up to Portland. I'll give them to you then.
And that's what I did. Big Sister Win. They're Alice's Amazing No Gusset fingerless gloves, except I put in a gusset. Because I wanted him to have a thumb. I whipped them out in 24 hours. (shut up, no I didn't weave in the ends.)
