Dear Readers,
As promised, here is a picture of my lovely cat, Baron von Gikkingen. (Yes, I realize it's an unusual name, and no, I don't care, and yes, it's from Miyazaki's "The Cat Returns.")

He is very happy to be on his own in an apartment, with me all to himself. Now, he doesn't like that I abandon him for foolish things, like setting up my classroom, grocery shopping, zumba, weekend trips to Portland, or any reason at all. But he will tolerate me being on the computer for hours as I surf the net or write in this blog. He sometimes acts like it's none of his buisiness what I do and don't do, but when I leave and come back he showers his love on me by following me into the bathroom or purring or rubbing against my hands and legs.
As you can see, I started my Godmother's socks. They are made with US size 0, and are made with Blue moon Socks that rock. The colorway is Booby 2, though I think it should maybe be called Crabby because of the colors. (shrug). I love that it self-stripes, and even though it's very crab-like, it still reminds me of foxes.
In other news, Eugene is pretty fun! I've only been to a few places, but I can't wait to explore more! I almost wish I'd gone to Eugene for college instead of La Grande! (almost.)
Readers, you will be proud of me! I went to the Saturday market today and took loads of picturesI I also checked out Eugene's very own Townshends! As you can see, I got some tea (White Rose Peony, very rosy-tasting, pretty good served cold). I also started my advent angel's Christmas Aran. And, since she and the whole family knows, I'll let you know, too. It's for Becca. She sat me down and asked specifically for a sweater, with loads of cables. I set her loose on Ravelry, and she came up with this pattern: the shire Aran. Full of cables, as you can see. Becca is currently working on Basic training, i.e. boot camp. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers. If you don't pray, send good thoughts and vibes her way. She will need it. I'll be thinking and praying for her every time I knit the sweater.
I also somehow found a Voodoo doughnuts..... Is that business slowly taking over Oregon? what next? A VOODOO IN LA GRANDE?! (GASP!) It was awesome.
The town is a lot bigger than places I've been before, and I love it. Plus, there's tons of people my age! It's important to have balance in everything, including a social life. And it would be nice to have one again.
Hopefully next week I can show you more pictures of Becca's aran sweater. On another note, I've been thinking I need to get on my letter writing to my siblings. Do you write or get personal letters? what is your take on them? Comment below.
See you next week!
