Dear Readers,
I apologize that I couldn't post on last Saturday. Or the Saturday before. You see, I was moving, and that left little time for picture-taking or blog-posting. I had a post half-way prepared (I'd written it, but not put in pics yet), but I'm throwing that out the window because a lot has changed in the last two weeks, and of course you need to know!

First, I moved to Eugene. Baron (My darling cat) is very comfortable there, and is again enjoying the pleasures of the indoor cat of a bachelorette (i.e. he gets the apartment to himself) I can't promise I'll post any pics of the apartment, but I will post pics of Baron next week in his natural habitat.
Secondly, as you can see, I finished the Swallowtail shawl! (FINALLY!) It's taken several years, but I finally did it. The shawl was blocked over the weekend on the guest bedroom bed. Don't worry, the door was closed so Mr. fluffy-butt can't shed his glory all over it.

Secondly, I am finished with Becca's Christmas "Fire-on-the-mountain" socks. I plan on starting my Godmother's next (Don't tell her!) I also plan on working on my Advent Angel's sweater (she's requesting it, and yes, she knows who she is. Hopefully she'll forget).
I just finished two long books; The first Sir Percy, and The Girl who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a ship of her own making, the latter has me thinking about Autumn, because the main character's name is September, and her favorite color is orange, and she goes to the land of Autumn, and it's getting colder (FINALLY) in Portland and Eugene. So, this has me thinking about this show:
If you have not seen "Over the garden wall," I encourage you to watch it. I'm not spoiling anything, just that the show is short, and it's fantastic. It's got a very ancient and weird feeling, like a colonial ghost story. And of course, there is a wild fandom following. (Check that out in Tumblr after you watch the series).
This series makes me want pumpkin pie and anything pumpkin and to start wearing orange and brown and red. What do you like about Autumn? Answer in the comments.
See you next week!
Julia
PS,
I checked in on my classroom at O'Hara, where I will be teaching, and I have SO MANY BOOKSHELVES! (squeee!!!)
