Dear Readers,
apologies for being so late in posting. Life can get busy (and it did there for about 2 weeks of non-stop "stuff." Most of it was work-related, and involved me being gone from my apartment for 2 weekends in a row, which meant that I didn't blog. But, it's not like I've been lazing around when it comes to knitting, either.

Here's the finished Once There Was a Baby Blanket for my friend, Shelby. I can't wait to give it to her. I had to change the edging 3 times, and I had to buy more yarn as well, but it was worth it.
This is a hat for my friend Ira, who shaved his head. (Sort of accidentally. He thought he could cut his hair. He thought wrong.) Apologies for the bad pic. I had to knit the thing ASAP and snap a pic so I could give it to him. He dared me to make it within 24 hours. I made it in about 8, and spent the rest being smug.
Here's the Blanket I've been working on as well. I had extra yarn from Peter's sweater last year (4 whole skeins of it!) and so I thought I'd make a lap blanket. I'm glad I did. It's super warm.
I've also somehow promised my cousin into making a sweater for her. Not that I'm not happy to do it, it's just surprising that I'm not slowing down. I've just built up a head of steam, and now I'm really moving! The yarn is Knitpicks Alpaca Cloud Fingering, and the pattern will be this one. This is the gauge swatch, washed and blocked (yes! I didn't need to go down a needle size! )
Since I've apparently taken up knitting like a maniac and ordering yarn online, I've bought a swift. I think I'll buy a ball winder come next paycheck, as I don't want to wind that Alpaca Cloud by hand into a ball.
Babbies are also in season currently, which means (you guessed it!) Baby knitting! I'm knitting this Quick Oats pattern with the leftover white bulky yarn from the Once Upon a Baby blanket. I'm knitting sweaters for two co-workers, one who is currently on Maternity leave, and the other who's wife is pregnant. I wish I could add some color, but I'm not sure what I can do. I'll have to ruffle around in the stash.
Finally, remember that sock yarn I bought near the end of January? Yeah, I'm still swatching. But, progress. This colorway is called Monet. From the swatch, it promises to be a very colorful sock.
Things I have been watching while knitting like a maniac:
Tsuritama: This is a recent discovery, and I LOVE it. It's hilarious and fun and exciting and I LOVE that the main character is being pulled out of panicking by an alien, an agent, and a fishing prince. Somehow these guys are going to save the world, and I'm excited to see how they do it. It's a good, safe, fun anime about friendship.
Food Wars: This one is sadly a little sexualized. I don't like how people suddenly get naked (no matter how much they conviniently cover the worst parts with food or water or whatever) whenever they eat the good food. Can't we be CLOTHED and enjoy food? Sheesh. Despite that, however, the show is fun to watch. Basically, a Diner kid goes to a gourmet cooking highschool, where only 10% of entering students graduate. The kid (Soma) surprises everyone and ends up knocking everybody's socks off with his mad cooking skills. It makes it even more interesting that most of the "cooks" are people who have been raised in high society. Most of them have some sort of food corporation, and they're all STUPID RICH. Except this kid. And it shows. But it's still fun.
Things I have been listening to while knitting like a maniac:
DoubleKnit: A podcast about two female seattleite knitters. I just like to listen to people talk about knitting, OK? It's rare that one can find co-hosting podcasts about knitting that aren't Vodcasts.
Cheerleader (by OMI). On loop. Play that 1-hour youtube vid!
Ciao for now
