Well, I've been lazy. OK, not LAZY, but the issue with blogging is that you have to live a life in order to have things worth blogging about, and when you are too busy living your life, you can't blog! It's almost like you have to blog full-time to blog at all. (wait a minute....)
The following gallery of pics is what I have so far with Christmas knitting. I have decided to swear off Becca's sweater until the socks are all completed and the one pair of gloves SOMEONE wants because she is too picky about socks. She's gonna regret it. (It's Teresa).
Also, I've basically been listening to podcasts so I can keep my mind occupied during knitting. I bring the stuff everywhere now, even work, at the slightest off-chance that I will be able to find time to knit. (It doesn't really happen, but I bring it anyway). And the end is in sight. I just have 3 more pairs to make! (plus the gloves).
But Podcasts. Here are some of my favorites:
Knit 1 Geek 2: This is basically a knitting geek podcast. And if we're talking specifics here, they are into superheroes and Sherlock and Dr. Who. So, your average geek. Knitting with yarns named after the Avengers, knitting patterns that are decidedly sherlockian, and of course there are TONS of Dr. Who patterns out there, not the least of which is the infamous Dr. Who Scarf. (Do not attempt if you have a low tolerance for boredom).
Talkin' Toons with Rob Paulsen: This is an animation podcast, specifically for voice actors and aspiring voice actors. Sounds boring, right? WRONG. I am convinced voice actors (even though they do work really hard) basically play all day. By that I mean they try to make each other crack up or say stupid stuff. You know those bloopers for cartoons? yeah, think that, only every day. Some of the stories Rob Paulsen shares are simply hilarious. On top of that, he's a sweetheart, and is always so gentlemanly and kind towards any ladies on the show and respectful and humble towards any men, even those who are younger. Plus, Rob's basically been on every cartoon show you can think of at least once (except for a few newer ones, but don't worry, he will be on those too eventually). A pretty funny podcast.
Anime Club: I started listening to this recently because they asked Vic Mingnoga to appear (voice of Tamaki in Ouran High School Host Club and Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist and FMA Brotherhood. If you don't know what those are, check them out). It was pretty fun, and it seems like this group has a good podcast going.
All other podcasts I'm listening to are basically highly-knitting related. I listen to them (to be honest) so I can get motivation for knitting. But you know what kind of podcast there needs to be out there? A Christmas knitting podcast. And there also needs to be one for the Beekeeper's quilt. Just sayin'.
Ciao for now,
Julia
